Offroad Drivetrain Innovation
Yep. It's about as concise as we could get...three words to describe what we're all about.
Learn about our story!
Short Story
At work or at play, regular UTV turning radius doesn’t always cut it. If UTV’s could just pivot off an inside corner - like a rock buggy or tractor - we'd be set! We set out to solve the dilemma in one fell aftermarket swoop, and the Legion Zero-Turn Kit was born.
Long story
There is just one area in which no OEM or aftermarket solutions have been offered for UTVs: cutting brakes. Every single comp rock buggy and even Ford’s new Bronco and Tremor package trucks have cutting brakes. Every serious crawler whether Toyota or Jeep finds a way to throw a twin stick case on. But when these same hardcore enthusiasts and racers come over to the burgeoning UTV market they are given no options at all! It’s high time this call was answered. That’s why we’re here. We’re offering you the ability to disengage either or both of your rear two wheels allowing for 3wd digs and pure front digs. Even if you just like to cruise the city in your massive, sporty, 4-seater you can eliminate rear tire scrub and wear on your drive train, disengage both rear wheels, go into 4-wheel drive and you’ve got a nice little front-drive sedan. Our kits allow you to engage and disengage drive to the rear wheels at the flick of a switch. None of our products cause a loss of stock in drivetrain configurations, they simply add more. We are increasing compatibility all the time. Please reach out and we’ll see if we can work something out for your rig!
THE MODERN UTV
THE MODERN UTV:
Only about two decades ago the first UTVs, that could do more than just work on the farm, started to come out. Yamaha came in strong strong with their classic Rhino, and Polaris caught wind that folks were eager for a more sport-dedicated UTV. So, in 2007 the world got its first Razor (originally still within the Ranger family). Kawasaki didn’t want to be left out and quickly added the Teryx to their lineup. Can-am and Artic Cat jumped in a little later and the race was on. In 2014 Polaris introduced trailing arms controlled by just a few radius rods as the new gold standard for rear suspension. In 2015 Can-am unveiled their x3 with its fantastically low center of gravity and things started to get serious. Now with machines like the Rzr Pro R, and Maveric R (that’s a lot of Rs), roaring out 240HP stock, and bouncing around with 20-30” of suspension travel, UTVs are starting to be able to keep up with many custom-built Rock Buggies. If you don’t believe me, explain how Kyle Chaney pulled onto the King of The Hammer 4400 division podium first just a few months ago in an Maverick Platform! Alright yea he did kinda remake the frame from scratch... But mostly stock geometry:) Thanks to companies like Super ATV and High Lifter the average user can easily throw on a set of portals and 40” tractor tires and rip through the mud like they mean it. Throw some code at your fuel maps, and paddle tires on your rear end and you can even keep some series dune buggies in sight. Thanks to two decades of OEM and aftermarket engineering UTVs have truly changed the off-road game forever.
